There is nothing listed in the Control Surface Preferences. There is nothing listed in the Controller Assignments. How do I manually set up my S90ES as a control surface and delete the other ones that I made by mistake? I have exhausted all options in Logic X to add my keyboard as a Control Surface. The keyboard works fine as I’ve been playing some software instruments with it via USB. Backspace won’t delete the unwanted control surfaces, also tried with shift, alt and cmd to no avail.

That’s different to a “Control Surface”, which has a very specific meaning. PS I can assign a keyboard button to Mute a selected track. Not sure how to assign other functions as there’s no option for other functions. Not sure what you call your “keyboard screen”. If you mean the Musical Typing window? Then don’t worry about it at all, it just means you’ve selected an audio tracks and therefore you can’t really “play” the track with a MIDI keyboard. Or do you mean the actual LCD screen on your physical keyboard? Create a new empty project, 1 software instrument track, choose a piano patch, play your keyboard: can you hear the piano?
